Jodie uses a variety of theoretical approaches, depending on clients’ needs. She is trained in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and appreciates its focus on values-based living. Jodie also makes use of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, and family systems approaches. Jodie has recently been trained in emotionally focused therapy (EFT) for couples and families. This approach is attachment-based and intuitive. She also utilizes the Gottman Method (Level 2) for couples. Jodie often integrates mindfulness practices and polyvagal theory as she teaches clients about how stress and trauma are stored in the body.
