Jodie uses a variety of theoretical approaches, depending on clients’ needs. She is certified in acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and appreciates its focus on values-based living. Jodie also makes use of narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (for PTSD), solution-focused brief therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy. For working with couples, Jodie is trained in the Gottman method (Level II). She often integrates mindfulness practices and has interest in continuing to learn about the ways in which stress and trauma are stored in the body.
