Davita brings acceptance, empathy, and a calm energy to her sessions to create a space where clients feel respected and comfortable being themselves. She believes that a collaborative therapeutic relationship is a vital element of effective counselling, and strives to incorporate client preferences and feedback in order to tailor therapy to meet the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family she meets with. Davita has experience working with people from a range of ages, diverse backgrounds, and with various challenges bringing them in for counselling. She has also facilitated a number of therapy groups, including marriage preparation workshops.

Davita practices an integrative approach drawing mainly from Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She completed training in Emotionally-Focused Therapy for couples and primarily uses this approach, along with strategies from Gottman Method couples therapy, when counselling couples. Often drawing on mindfulness in her practice, Davita can also integrate spirituality into the counselling process where desired by clients.
