Allison Crosby, M.Ed.
Allison is truly passionate about helping people improve their lives. She approaches counselling from a person-centered perspective, believing that clients have the power, ability, and freedom to set & meet their own goals and live life in more meaningful ways. Allison’s extensive education in Psychology (BA, Simon Fraser University) and Counselling (MEd, University of Northern British Columbia) have given her knowledge about research based, effective techniques and her practical experience at the Community Care Centre has equipped her with the skills needed to help a diverse range of clients.

While Allison approaches counselling primarily from a person-centered approach, she incorporates techniques from other theories including Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. For couples counselling Allison works from an eclectic approach, drawing from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Gottman-based therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Allison enjoys collaborating with clients to explore short-term and long-term solutions to problems as well as processing the past if clients feel they have unresolved issues they’d like to work through. Allison is a skilled therapist that is warm, friendly & easy to talk to. She develops a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients, and believes this is key in helping clients set and accomplish their goals.
