A Summary of Healthy Relating
I was recently sent this reading on Unconditional Love by Virginia Satir:
I want to love you without clutching
Appreciate you without judging
Join you without invading
Invite you without demanding
Leave you without guilt
Evaluate you without blaming
Help you without insulting
If I can have the same from you
then we can truly meet and enrich each other
Have you ever experienced CARE that is like this? Have you experienced CARE that is NOT like this? To me, understanding what is healthy relating versus unhealthy relating is at the crux of humanities’ biggest problems. The more we can discern what feels like this, versus what doesn’t, the closer I think we get to learning to live, and love, well.
When I got this reading, I was inspired. I hope you are too.
