Karla’s focus is on walking alongside clients with empathy, non-judgement, and compassion. She helps clients examine their thought life and connecting emotions to help bring clients to a deeper understanding of themselves while working to equip them with tools they can use on their own. Karla creates a calm, warm, and caring environment, which helps you feel safe, understood, and accepted as you work together. She helps clients identify where they might be feeling stuck, needing clarity, or support.
Karla’s training includes certification as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist under world renowned therapist, Dr. David D. Burns, as well as certification using Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Her approach is largely focused on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, augmented by trauma and attachment theory. She also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. Should clients request, Karla is open to incorporate aspects of Christian faith into her practice.
