Living Well Clinical Counsellor

Emily is known for creating a calming and comforting space to allow you to show up exactly as you are. She recognizes that counselling is a vulnerable process – as such, she brings warmth and curiosity to the therapy room to help you feel heard, supported, and unconditionally accepted. Her work is founded on genuine connection with clients, guided exploration of yourself and your struggles, and collaboratively finding solutions that fit your goals and strengths. Emily is passionate about working with adults, couples, parents, neurodivergent folks, 2SLGBTQIA+ community members, multicultural clients, and other minority groups.

Becoming a mental health professional after many years spent in both corporate and non-profit sector leadership, Emily brings a deep understanding of interpersonal dynamics, communication, workplace issues, burnout, and transformational change. Having worked at the Calgary Counselling Centre, she has experience supporting highly diverse clientele with various concerns. She feels privileged to use her professional and lived experiences to help you with your important issues and life transitions.

 

Based on your unique challenges, Emily will tailor an approach that works for you. She draws upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method for couples. Overall, Emily embraces a holistic, trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach.
