Joanna truly believes that with the support of an experienced, focused, and dedicated therapist, growth and healing is possible no matter where you are in your journey. Joanna’s passion for excellence in psychological theory as well as practice, informed by her holistic approach to mental health and wellness, has further afforded her a diverse competency and skill set that she brings to her work, in all that she does. She did a clinical residency in eating disorders and has working successfully in multiple settings such as primary care, EFAP programs, and specialized grief and chronic pain programs which provided her with additional opportunities to live out her passion and pursuit of excellence in her practice. She also values her role in serving as an Ethics Examiner for the College of Alberta Psychologists and teaches and supervises undergraduate and graduate counselling students.
In her personal life she enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing squash on a local interclub league. In her free time, you can find her walking in the outdoors, traveling, sampling the diverse cuisines of the city or curled up with a good book.
